Crochet Snowflake Pattern
Materials:
White yarn (or any color you prefer)
Crochet hook (size 2.5mm to 3.5mm depending on the thickness of the yarn)
Scissors
Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet
sp = space
Instructions:
Start with a magic ring or ch 6 and join to form a loop.
Round 1:
Ch 1 (does not count as a st). 12 sc into the ring.
Join with a sl st to the first sc.
(You will have 12 sc stitches.)
Round 2:
Ch 1 (does not count as a st). In the same stitch, make a dc.
Ch 3, skip 1 sc, dc in the next sc. Repeat from * to * around.
Join with a sl st to the top of the first dc.
(You should have 6 loops of ch 3 spaces around.)
Round 3:
Sl st to the first ch-3 space.
Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) into the ch-3 space.
Ch 5, sc in the next ch-3 space, ch 5, (sc, ch 3, sc) in the next ch-3 space.
Repeat around.
Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Round 4 (Optional for a more delicate look):
Ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 space, ch 5, (sc, ch 3, sc) in the next ch-3 space.
Repeat this pattern all the way around.
Finishing:
After completing the rounds, finish off and weave in any loose ends with a yarn needle.
This will give you a beautiful and simple crochet snowflake! You can adjust the number of chains, or even use a larger hook and thicker yarn for a bigger snowflake. Experiment with different colors to create a variety of snowflakes to hang on your tree or use in decorations.
