Bread Slice Pattern
Front & Back of the Bread (Make 2)
Using cream or off-white yarn:
- MR, 6 SC (6)
- INC in each stitch (12)
- (SC, INC) around (18)
- (2 SC, INC) around (24)
- (3 SC, INC) around (30)
- (4 SC, INC) around (36)
- (5 SC, INC) around (42)
- SC around (42) for 5 more rounds
- FO, weave in ends
Make a second identical piece but do NOT fasten off.
Crust (Side of the Bread)
Using light brown yarn:
- Attach yarn to the edge of one bread piece
- CH 1, SC around the entire edge (approx. 80 stitches)
- SC around for 8-10 more rows to form the thickness of the bread
- When the strip reaches the size of the bread, SL ST to join both pieces together
- Stuff the bread firmly before closing
- FO, weave in ends
Butter Slice Pattern
Butter Square (Make 1)
Using soft yellow yarn:
- CH 6
- SC in 2nd CH from hook and across (5)
- CH 1, turn. SC across (5) – Repeat for 5 rows total
- FO, weave in ends
